| preface
In this brochure we have the pleasure of presenting you an innovative study option: a Bachelor’s Program designed to prepare its students for the prospective requirements of a future-oriented field of work, where an intelligent linking of charitable & profit-oriented, public & private, and local / regional & international aspects is essential. The combination of specialist aspects of the nonprofit, social and health care segment with political-economic, socialpsychological, legal, business administrative and management-related contents provides the basis of the program’s labor market-oriented and innovative profile offering excellent career prospects. The program, therefore equips its students with the knowledge and tools required for a career in private and public organizations whose object is to deal with fundamental social concerns, in most cases without the explicit goal of generating a profit but nevertheless setting a high standard in terms of professional management to ensure competitiveness and be able to provide effective and efficient services meeting the demands of their core client groups. The medium-term perspective for graduates of the three-year Bachelor’s Program extends to administrative and management positions in the nonprofit, social and health care segment and related fields. |

| background
In view of the major social and global changes nonprofit, social and healthcare institutions are forced to adapt to rapidly changing needs and problems and respond flexibly to new requirements. Decision- makers in these organizations need to be able to competently join in a discussion, make critical assessments and clearly analyze, provide effective arguments and take confident business decisions. The application of up-to-date business management tools and methods, a sound knowledge of institutional correlations, and decision-taking and leadership competencies are absolutely mandatory qualities and abilities expected from experts in the nonprofit, social and health care sector. Consequently the demand for qualified staff at all organizational levels is continuously on the rise. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| career prospects
Graduates of this Bachelor’s program are active in particular in the following fields and segments, for which substantial growth rates, and therefore excellent career prospects are projected. This program might therefore be regarded as a sort of ‘missing link’ between the main categories of current MCI study programs, which prepare students for a career on a either management level in traditionally profit-oriented industries or in classic fields of social work, whose services are intended to support clients faced with specific problem situations.
