The 1994 introduction of Universities
of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Austria has brought quite a breath
of fresh air into the structures of European higher education
systems. An UAS degree program is "equivalent to but different
from"* a traditional university degree program and is characterized
in particular by its close relations with trade and industry,
its practice orientation and customer focus, a strictly organized
program schedule and a highly service-oriented approach.
Being organized on a private law basis UAS degree programs of MCI are officially accredited under public law.
