The deep and far-reaching structural change of modern global and functionally differentiated societies leads to an increasing complexity of social problems and to a growing concern for sustainable socio-economic development. There is a growing understanding that many problem areas are structurally determined and therefore must at this level be resolved. The classical client-centred social work strategies and techniques are to be evaluated and supplemented through operational strategies and methods at the regional (meso) and societal (macro) levels. Thus, the areas of controlled social change, the (re)formation of social policy, the descriptive and explanatory research of the emergence and solution of societal problems, deep knowledge and well-founded mastery of the latest intervention strategies in social work, as well as knowledge in the area of management of social organisations, are becoming increasingly necessary and important in social work. There is a growing societal need for deeper social work knowledge and understanding of a balanced configuration of societal co-existence at the micro, meso and macro levels. The purpose of the Social Work, Social Policy and Non-profit Management Masters course is to provide, through regional and international active specialists, a practice-based education in the solution of societal problem areas. Graduates are trained to apply the newest social work methods and techniques appropriately in their particular practice, to use appropriate analytic methods of social problems in the area of social work research, to see their determinants and results through, to initiate social policy judiciously, and to lead social organisations efficiently and effectively. Graduates work above all in the following fields of practice:
