On September 26, 2011, the new full-time bachelor program Business & Management, entirely taught in English, started with 24 students from 7 nations. This practice-oriented study program combines intercultural thinking with interdisciplinary learning and offers excellent career perspectives due to its high-quality studies and practical relevance. University professors with business expertise as well as experienced managers and consultants from the business world deliver deep insights into the field of business administration, economics, marketing and law in order to prepare MCI students for an international career. Graduates of this bachelor program can work, for example, in trading companies, business consultancies, advertising agencies, banks and insurance companies or even set up their own businesses. Out of a high number of applicants, the first Business & Management Bachelor students successfully completed a challenging admission procedure. Bernd Kirschner, Head of Department and Studies, was pleased by the high demand: “Although we did not promote our full-time bachelor program at all, we received a high number of applications from all over the world. Among these applicants were many with great potential which is why we accepted more than initially planned. Even more gratifying is the reaction of the business world – a lot of companies already showed a high interest in recruiting our prospective Business & Management bachelor graduates.” This feedback from both prospective students and the business world reflects the success story of the Business & Management study programs.
