MCI offers a limited number of single rooms (ten to twenty per semester) in "Internationales Studentenhaus (ISH)", a well-equipped student dormitory located within walking distance of the historic center of Innsbruck and MCI’s central campus (approx. 20 minutes).
Facts about ISH
- Location: Rechengasse 7, 6020 Innsbruck, Austria.
- Equipment and furniture in rooms: Rooms are single rooms and fully furnished (Category A, J). This includes a small kitchenette, a bathroom, internet access and a phone (phone rates not included in rent, need to be paid extra).
- Recreational facilities: Table tennis, sports room, TV room, music room, billard, terrace, computer room, newspapers.
- Other information:
- Students need to bring their own cutlery/dishes.
- Students need to bring their own pillows, duvets and linen. (Pillows and duvets can also be bought from ISH; linen can be rented from ISH)
- Visitors are allowed between 7 am and midnight, but not overnight.
- A receptionist is in charge of security and checks entry and exit of visitors.
- The dormitory is a non-smoking building.
- Sanitary rooms are cleaned every 14 days.
- Pictures of ISH and more detailed information are available on ISH’s website: www.studentenhaus.at. Due to an agreement between MCI and ISH, not all of the information on ISH’s website (especially about terms of payment) applies to MCI exchange students.
How to apply and terms of payment
- Please send us the "Application for Student Housing" including all required data as soon as possible.
- By sending this form to MCI, you undertake to rent a single room as described above.
- Rental period (spring semester): March 1 through August 31
- Rental period (fall semester): September 1 through February 28/29
- Rental period (academic year): September 1 through August 31
- The rental fee for the semester period is EUR 3,100; the rental fee for the entire year is EUR 4,900
- After the receipt of your "Application for Student Housing" we will debit your credit card with an advance payment of EUR 1,000. You will have to pay the remaining EUR 2,100 for one semester by credit card during the first week of the semester. The remaining EUR 3,900 for the whole year have to be paid in two installments after your arrival.
- MCI reserves the right to debit your credit card with the rental fee for the whole period, even if the place of study or the place in the dormitory is not or only partly used.

- The application deadline for a room at ISH is December 10 for spring and May 1 for fall. However, it is possible that all rooms have been rented out earlier.
- Upon receipt of your application we will send you a confirmation email and the contract.
- You will then have to send us the signed contract, the original application and two passport photos by regular surface mail.
