Like all FH students in Austria, students at the MCI have full membership in the Austrian Students’ Union (ÖH), with all the rights and duties which that entails. The ÖH represents the interests of all students at Austrian universities, teacher-training colleges, and universities of applied science and their FH programs. For your information:
- Elections must be organized by the governing body. Elections for year and program representatives are held in the last two months of the academic year, but first-year students elect their group/year representatives in the first month of their program.
- The following student representatives are elected at the MCI:
- FH student representative (MCI student representative)
- Program representatives
- Year representatives
- Group representatives
- For the elections in May/June, it is the governing body’s task to convene the constitutive meeting for the election of the chairperson and his/her deputies. Every two years (in the framework of the university elections), a representative and his/her deputy are additionally elected to the national ÖH assembly.
- Under Austrian law, MCI students must pay a students’ union (ÖH) fee of EUR 16.86 per semester. Payment of the fee is a requirement for admission to or continuation of a study program or certificate course.
- The fee includes accident and third-party liability insurance.
- The ÖH fees are collected by the governing body before the beginning of the semester and transferred to the ÖH without any deductions.
