Interdisciplinary solutions are essential for mechatronics in the 21st century, and international Master's degrees are very popular in industry. MCI currently offers three double degree options in the Master's program Mechatronics - Smart Technologies at partner universities in Paris and Boone.
Our double degree programs allow you to deepen your Master's studies with additional specializations and gain exciting experience abroad. As part of a double degree program, your Master's program is extended to five semesters. You will spend two semesters at MCI and two at the respective partner university. In the fifth semester, you will write a joint Master's thesis and be awarded the academic title of both universities upon completing your studies.
Elective Electrical Engineering
The course content focuses on mechatronics and control engineering core competencies, electro-mechanical simulation, robotics, and image processing. Complementary courses teach relevant skills in management, leadership, and process management. You may choose from various specializations to become an expert in electrodynamics, non-linear electronics, embedded computing, and electromagnetic simulation.
Elective Mechanical Engineering
The course content focuses on mechatronics and control engineering core competencies, electro-mechanical simulation, robotics, and image processing. Complementary courses teach relevant skills in management, leadership, and process management. You may choose from a range of specializations to become an expert in machine dynamics, hydraulics, finite elements, and the strengths of materials.
International Outreach
International orientation plays a central role in every MCI degree program and is evident in the diverse backgrounds of faculty and students, in our curricula, and in international projects and internships. In addition, students have the chance to spend a semester at one of over 300 partner universities across the globe or to complete the final thesis abroad.
As an alternative to a semester abroad, the Double Degree programs with France and the United States offer the opportunity to earn two degrees. In addition to the Master of Science in Engineering (MCI), students receive the degree awarded by the respective partner university. As a result, the duration of the masterâs program is extended by one additional semester.
