In addition to internships abroad, an international faculty and international teaching focus, and a module or semester spent abroad at one of our noted partner universities on every continent, the MCI also offer students an attractive range of foreign languages. Apart from the language requirements of the various curricula, students at the MCI can choose additional elective languages for all study programs. Such additional foreign language qualifications on a voluntary basis strengthen students’ international orientation and intercultural competence and further improve their chances on the job market.

The current language offering includes Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and sign language. It is based on students’ needs and is being continually extended.

BRIEF INFORMATION

  • Ability levels:
    The courses are based on the Common European Reference Framework for Lan-guages (CERF) and graded for various levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced, conversation, etc).
  • Teaching staff:
    Teaching is provided in the form of a varied program by MCI language trainers with proven didactic abilities.
  • Teaching method:
    With small groups and a focus on communication and intercultural competence, quality teaching with successful results and a high enjoyment factor is guaranteed.
  • Certificates:
    On completion of their courses, students are awarded MCI language certificates with ECTS credits.
  • Complementary skills:
    To round off the foreign language programs, the MCI also offers cultural briefing, voice training and communication training classes.
  • Times:
    The language courses are held every Tuesday from 6-8:15 p.m. For the times for the complementary skills classes, go to the MCI intranet at www.mci4me.at.
