The City

Maribor is the second-largest city in Slovenia and the largest city of the traditional region of Lower Styria. Maribor is also the economic, administrative, educational, and cultural centre of eastern Slovenia.
The city center of Maribor counts many historical sites, such as the remains of the old city wall surrounding the old downtown.

The University

The University of Maribor is Slovenia's second-largest university and currently consists of 17 faculties.
The university's roots go back to 1859, when a theological seminary was established. More faculties were created during the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1975 the University of Maribor was officially founded.
