The City

Budapest is the capital and most populous city of Hungary. It is a vibrant international city of approx. 2 million inhabitants that stretches out on the two riverbanks of the Danube (one side Buda, one side Pest). On the Buda-side there are green areas and hills for recreation, also overlooked by the famous Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion. On the Pest-side there are a lot of cozy cafés, ruin bars, and cultural spaces. Budapest is a great city for students with beautiful architecture, a lively cultural life and the benefit of well-connected public transport. The central area of Budapest along the Danube River is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has several notable monuments of classical architecture such as the Hungarian Parliament.
Budapest is a global city with strengths in commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education and entertainment.

The University

Andrássy University Budapest is a small international yet fully German-speaking university where it is easy to make connections not only with the other students that come from a variety of national and academic contexts but also with the teaching staff and professors, as the student-teacher ratio is about 7:1 and classes are held in small groups. Andrássy University offers Master's degrees in the fields of politics and diplomacy, law and administration, economics and management, and culture and history, as well as an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program. The university specializes in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, and in particular in the topics of transformation processes and European integration from multiple disciplines. Some of the many perks of studying at Andrássy University are the innovative and practical teaching and research and a variety of extracurricular events where students can talk with high-ranking guests from science, politics, and practice about current topics.
Andrássy University is located right in the center of the city in a beautiful former palace from the 1860s that has a special charm and a small park right next to it, as well as a variety of cafés, restaurants, and bars just around the corner.
