  • Processed food: Addressing a global health challenge

    Processed foods have become a major part in Western diets. They are usually high in sugar, salt and/or fat, and low in nutritional valuable vitamins or fiber. The consequences of this diet seems to be devastating, as metabolic diseases (e.g., diabetes, CVD, hypertension) are on the rise.

  • The lecturers will provide a basic literature list. Beyond this list, students will need to engage in an independent literature survey for their essays and factsheets.
Lehr- und Lernformen
  • The course comprises an interactive mix of lectures, discussions, and individual and group work.
  • To monitor the students’ learning this course will provide ongoing assignments as a basis for feedback and grading (formative assessment) and/or will evaluate the students learning at the end of the course or an instructional unit via exams, final project reports, essays or seminar papers (summative assessment).
