  • Course Objectives:

    At the conclusion of this course students will be able to:

    1. Apply concepts of globalization and human rights to critically evaluate local, national and global social work practice.
    2. Demonstrate familiarity with international social work organizations and code of ethics.
    3. Show understanding of the international conventions of the United Nations and the roles of non-governmental organizations in the international community.
    4. Share knowledge about current cross-national issues in social work.
    5. Describe relevant solutions to local, national and international social work challenges that draw upon the practice experiences of social workers from various nations and regions of the world.
    6. Utilize principles of culturally sensitive practice with vulnerable populations.
    7. Apply knowledge gained about international social work practices to local and national social work practices.
