1999–2004 Member of the European Commission with responsibility for education, culture, youth, media and sport
2004–2010 Member of the European Commission with responsibility for the information society and media
2010–2014 Vice-President of the European Commission with responsibility for justice, fundamental rights and citizenship

Viviane Reding currently serves as a member of the Committee on International Trade. In addition to her committee assignments, Viviane Reding is a member of the European Parliament Intergroup on Long Term Investment and Reindustrialisation and the European Parliament Intergroup on the Digital Agenda. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors
