The City

Pforzheim is a city of nearly 120,000 inhabitants in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, in the southwest of Germany. It is known for its jewelry and watch-making industry, and as such has gained the nickname "Goldstadt" ("Golden City"). It is situated between the cities of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe at the confluence of three rivers (Enz, Nagold and Würm) and marks the frontier between Baden and Württemberg, being located on Baden territory. During World War II, Pforzheim was bombed a number of times.

The University

Hochschule Pforzheim University (Hochschule Pforzheim - Hochschule fuer Gestaltung, Technik und Wirtschaft) is one of the biggest public university for applied science in Germany Pforzheim. It was evolved by the demand of specialist in the jewelry industry and science then it became to grow into one of the most important applied university of sciences with research as well as education institution in Germany. The main buildings of the campus is located in the south part of the city of Tiefenbronner Str. with affiliated institutes around the city Pforzheim. The Hochschule Pforzheim is one of only nine institutions in Germany which received the Harvard AACSB accreditation
