As part of the Distinguished Lecture Series at the Management Center Innsbruck, the Entrepreneurial School© welcomed H.E. Hermann Glettler, Bishop of the Diocese of Innsbruck, as its first guest in the new academic year.

Bishop Hermann Glettler was born in 1965 in Übelbach in Styria. He completed his schooling at the Episcopal Seminary and Grammar School in Graz. Glettler studied theology and art history in Graz, Tuebingen and Munich. On 23 June 1991 Hermann Glettler was ordained priest for the diocese Graz-Seckau. After years of chaplaincy in Judenburg-St. Nikolaus and Wagna he spent a year of further education in 1998/99 in St. Nicolas des Champs in Paris. From 1999 to 2016 he was pastor in the parish association Graz St. Andrä-Karlau. © MCI

In September 2016 he was appointed bishop vicar for charity and evangelism in the diocese Graz-Seckau.

On 27 September 2017, Hermann Glettler was appointed bishop of the diocese of Innsbruck by Pope Francis, and was ordained bishop on Saturday 2 December 2017 in the Innsbruck Olympic Hall.

The event was organized together with the Consular Corps Tirol.
