On April 25 2019, the MCI and the Medical University of Innsbruck organized a joint "Open Labs Day" for the first time. The event for selected students was used to provide information about the study programs "Molecular Medicine" (offered at Medical University of Innsbruck), and "Bio- & Food Technology", "Environmental, Process & Energy Technology" and "Mechatronics" (offered at MCI).

In the morning, different introductory lectures were held for the participants at the MCI Campus Maximilianstraße 2. In the afternoon, the students could gain their first hands-on laboratory experience at different stations both at the MCI or the Biomedicine of the Medical University (CCB).
