As part of the MCI Alumni & Friends lecture series, the Entrepreneurial School® was pleased to host a panel event with Katherina Reiche, CEO of Westenergie AG, who was digitally connected.

Katherina Reiche holds a degree in chemistry and has three children. Until the end of 2019, she was Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU), which organizes around 1,500 member companies nationwide with total sales of around 119 billion euros and more than 275,000 employees.

She was a member of the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2015, and deputy chairwoman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group from 2005 to 2009, responsible for education and research policy as well as for the environment, nature conservation and reactor safety.

From 2009 to 2013, Katherina Reiche was Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and from 2013 to 2015 Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
