When I look back at my time at MCI...
… I realize how limited my perspective on society in general and business in particular was before I started my studies. I came into contact with so many wonderful people and was able to share their experiences, which was an enormous benefit for me personally. I am grateful for the wonderful time I had at the MCI, the knowledge I gained and the feeling that I will be a part of this university forever!
How did your studies prepare you for your current job?
I was already working successfully in tourism for a long time before my studies. But since everyday business life is far too often subject to a lot of stress and pressure, you can burn out completely over time. Similar to an operating system on a computer, one's own performance gets worse and worse. Especially in the hotel industry, where working conditions have always been rather moderate in many companies. You have the feeling that you are being overtaken by time and the further you climb the career ladder, the more deficits become apparent - especially in the areas of leadership and strategy. Studying at the MCI has helped me personally to fill these gaps, to assess complex topics correctly and to add the dimension of scientific thinking. In addition, I had the opportunity to deal intensively with the challenges of the future in the area of leadership as part of my final thesis. It was a very special experience!
What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?
In my view, the best decision you can make for your future!
