Course contents

In principle, the course deals with techniques and solutions for the transport of goods from and to, but also within plants. It explains relevant solutions with respect to technical conception, control logic, and appropriate implementation procedures. Consequently, the course also touches on core areas of MRP and ERP systems. Most importantly, the course teaches specific solutions for process plants, which, compared with traditional production plants, are faced with a wide range of very diverse challenges. In particular, the course deals with
- technical solutions for the transport, handling, and packaging of liquid and bulk materials,
- storage strategies and techniques especially for hazardous goods,
- the management of material flows to plants (supply chain management for process plants),
- production planning and control strategies and system solutions for the process engineering industry.
