  • basic characteristics of strategic decisions
    basic paradigms of strategic management which need to be understood as a prerequisite for understanding empirical investigations, with special treatment of the following theories:
    - Market-based view
    - Resource-based view
    identification of various strategic positions and analysis of the competition and of a dynamic competitive environment
    identification of strategically relevant skills, abilities and resources for the development of organizational core competences
    knowledge of the historical, structural and cultural dependence of strategic approaches and their influence on strategic decisions with special reference to the following tools and methods:
    - path-dependency methods
    - stakeholder mapping
    - historical analysis
    - cultural web analysis
    the significance of different strategic levels, especially the corporate and business unit strategy levels
    details of standard strategic approaches such as penetration, consolidation, development strategies and diversification, especially with regard to strategic taxonomies
