Course contents
  • - Integral calculus: Partial integration, substitution and expansion into partial fractions, integration of arc lengths, areas and volumes, particularly of bodies of revolution.
    - Ordinary differential equations as mathematical models describing processes. Analytical procedures for first order ordinary differential equations: Separation of variables, variation of constants; exponential approach to solving second order linear differential equations with constant coefficients (oscillating equation).
    - Judgmental statistics: Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, variance, statistical properties of least squares method, tests, confidence and forecast intervals in linear regression models, detection threshold, limits of detection, determination and quantification, error propagation, significant digits.
