Course contents

- Introduction to Green Manufacturing; What are Sustainability and Resource consumption?
- Sustainable development: Top-down & bottom-up approaches
- Terminology for sustainable production processes (ASTM E2987/E2987M, ASTM E3096, ASTM E2986, AST; E2979, ASTM E3012)
- Methods for the evaluation of production processes and improvement of sustainability; quantification.
- Definition, identification and organization of KPIs for sustainable production. Transformation of material/energy/information in the production process.
- Selected environmental aspects for production processes (e.g. green supply chain, closed-loop production systems, packaging, design for remanufacturing, environmental performance ratings, ...).
