This specialization on health management provides a comprehensive overview of the key concepts related to healthcare management and decision-making. It covers a broad range of topics including finance management, international welfare systems, determinants of health, and ethical decision making.
Students will gain knowledge and skills to understand and apply finance management tools and calculate projects within the healthcare sector, identify health system indicators and conduct a comparative analysis, understand the parameters and the global context of health and social systems, understand the link between the determinants of health and health equity, and understand the basic concepts of human rights. In addition, students will learn about health economics and how to analyze and evaluate health policy decisions.
The program provides a strong foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge to help students understand healthcare management.
Target group
This Certificate Course in Health Management is ideal for healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and those working in policy-making, management and finance roles, who want to develop their knowledge and skills to become the next generation of health leaders.
This program provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest healthcare developments and tools, and enables them to apply them to their own organizations. Participants will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of finance management in healthcare, as well as the types of health systems, global health context, and the determinants of health.
They will also have the opportunity to choose from two elective courses, on Ethical Decision Making and Health Economics, to gain valuable insights into the ethical and economic implications of health and healthcare. Participants will leave the program with the necessary competencies to make informed decisions and to lead their organizations in a way, that is financially and ethically sound.
