Strategic Foresight Management

Working with trends and developing future skills

Today more than ever, companies and organisations are required to systematically deal with volatile and ambiguous trends and a wide variety of future prospects. A corporate strategy that would only prove successful under stable conditions is highly risky these days. It is therefore important to develop strategies that are robust and resilient in the face of different future prospects.

The certificate programme teaches scientifically proven methods for the systematic recording and evaluation of trends, for the development and preparation of future scenarios and for the planning and implementation of future-proof strategies. In addition, practice-orientated tools and methods are developed for various areas of the company. Based on this, personal leadership competences are also developed in the context of uncertainty and shaping the future.

These individual competences are highly relevant across sectors and industries in order to develop future-proof strategies. The competence of future-oriented corporate management is more than just a valuable skill - it is essential for personal career development and the long-term resilience of organisations. Participants are empowered not only to react to change, but to actively shape and influence the future of their organisations.

The content is taught by lecturers with proven and long-standing expertise in science and business practice. The ‘UNESCO Chair in Futures Capability for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, which has been established at the MCI since 2023, plays a key role in the programme and directly picks up on the latest findings from the global network of science and business practice and puts them into practice.
