Anita Onay (birth name: Klotz) is a Professor for production economics at the Management Center Innsbruck. She is a Coordination Board Member of the European Working Group of Behavioural Operational Research (see, https://www.euro-online.org/websites/bor/) and group member of the Industry 5.0 Community of Practice (CoP 5.0). Her research objective is to contribute to better decision making in the field of supply chain management and production planning and control. Notably, she has a strong background in production management, gained during her time as a Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at the department of Production and Logistics Management under the supervision of Prof. Missbauer at the University of Innsbruck. Anita Onay also extends her expertise to practical applications together with production companies, emphasizing the translation of research and innovation into actionable strategies. In addition to conducting computer simulation studies addressing simulation applications for production planning, Anita actively engages in operations management, considering aspects such as process optimization and efficiency improvement. These studies delve into intricate relationships within the supply chain, encompassing both operations management and operations research principles. She takes a holistic approach, considering stochastic processes and environmental effects, to provide decision support with advanced visualizations. Through this comprehensive methodology, Anita uncovers potential optimizations within the supply chain dynamics. Her dual role as an academic and working with industry companies underscores her commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical research and its practical implementation in the interconnected domains of production management, supply chain management, operations management, and operations research.
