A few days ago, the leading food specialist Dr. Schär awarded this year's "Dr. Schär Scholarships" and invited the two prizewinners to the company’s headquarters in Burgstall in South Tyrol. Christiane Gurschler and Marina Pünsch will benefit from the Dr. Schär Performance Scholarship 2020; both are studying at the Entrepreneurial School® in the Master Degree program Food Technology & Nutrition.

Christiane Gurschler has already completed her Bachelor Degree at the MCI. She is writing her Master thesis on the "Effect of various bio packaging materials on the quality of minced pork". Parallel to her studies, she works at the MCI as a project collaborator in a current research project.

Marina Pünsch is also studying for a Master Degree in Food Technology & Nutrition, and like Ms. Gurschler, she will complete it in 2020. She is writing her Master thesis at the Laimburg Agricultural and Forestry Experimental Centre in South Tyrol.

The pioneering cooperation between the MCI and the leading food specialist Dr. Schär has been in place since 2015. The focus is on the promotion of talents in the field of food technology in order to give students the opportunity to combine theory and practice during their studies and to provide insight into future professional fields. The “Dr. Schär Performance Scholarship” was designed with the aim of supporting particularly outstanding students.

In addition to excellent study performance and a pronounced interest in nutrition technology and complex dietary nutrition solutions, fluency in Italian was also a decisive factor in the awarding of the scholarships.

Dr. Schär and the Entrepreneurial School® respectively, offer their warm congratulations to the scholarship winners.
