MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® can report a new success. The grand opening of the Pakistan Austria University of Applied Sciences - Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) by Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, with MCI Rector Andreas Altmann live on the scene, marked the completion of a successful project. MCI has supported this project from the very beginning for several years, together with the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences and five renowned universities in China, namely Guangdong University of Technology, Jiangsu University, Beijing Jiaotong University, China University of Mining and Technology and Feiyun Culture.

The concept developed by MCI in the consortium prevailed over competitors from all over the world to win the contract. Pakistan's Ministry of Science and the Haripur region were enthusiastic about the application and solution-oriented approach of an "Entrepreneurial University" as an intelligent combination of elements from university, Grande École, university of applied sciences, technology and business center.

In addition to its expertise in the design of such a university type, the MCI with its Department of Environmental, Process and Energy Engineering has developed the study concept for the "Chemical Engineering" program established there, assisted in the selection, appointment and training of the Pakistani professorial staff and contributed innovative research expertise.

As a next step, the MCI will accompany the development of a further course of study, support scientists with academic knowledge and familiarize representatives of the Pakistani university management with European university models.

Intensive digital exchange and numerous on-site visits in recent years have helped to ensure close coordination and made the enthusiasm from the Pakistani side tangible. In addition to the development of further courses of study, the next planned projects are the realization of an affiliated technology park and an intensive scientific exchange.

MCI Rector Andreas Altmann: "The euphoric mood and spirit of this university, expressed in the slogan 'Skilling Pakistan', is exceptional and exemplary. The hunger for education, technology, innovation and economic development is impressive. This is a place to leave well-trodden paths and create something inspiring. We congratulate PAF-IAST on this milestone and look forward to further cooperation. I would especially like to thank Prof. Werner Stadlmayr and Mag. Alexander Dumfort from the MCI and our international partners for their commitment and perseverance!”
