Once again, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® in Innsbruck has good news to report: The MCI's international university network was recently expanded to include a highly prestigious university partnership.
Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA
Located in the State of Connecticut in the United States, Yale university has been one of the ten best universities in the world for years (source: Times Higher Education Ranking) and is one of the eight Ivy League universities in the USA. The partnership agreement between Yale and MCI includes the reciprocal secondment of researchers, lecturers, and students, intensified cooperation based on Marshall Plan Scholarships and the Fulbright Program as well as joint projects, particularly in the fields of medical, health, and sports technology.
The Yale School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics, is delighted to announce the continued academic cooperation with MCI: “Over the past three years, we have had the pleasure of graciously hosting engineering master’s students from MCI, Marshall Plan scholars, fostering an environment of knowledge exchange and mutual growth at the School of Engineering's Center for Engineering, Innovation and Design, as well as a Rehabilitation Unit at Yale New Haven Bridgeport Hospital, Milford Campus. We are enthusiastic about the opportunities this partnership brings, driving innovation and excellence in the field of orthopaedics and engineering.”
Susanne Lichtmannegger, MCI Associate Dean International Relations, is pleased about the arising options: “MCI can now knock on the door of the best addresses worldwide and is well received there. The collaboration with the Yale School of Medicine, with its close connection to the Yale School of Engineering, offers MCI researchers, lecturers, and students unique opportunities; at the same time, we are delighted to be able to involve top-class colleagues from Yale University in research and teaching at MCI and to intensify scientific exchange.”
Yeongmi Kim, MCI Professor of Medical Engineering, expresses her excitement: “Research, innovation, and know-how transfer cannot be confined within national borders in order to be successful. Scientific progress and innovative solutions require international exchange, personal encounters, the sharing of knowledge, and common dreams of how to make the world an even better place.
Through years of student exchange programs, we have directly experienced the tangible benefits of collaborative efforts, ranging from publishing impactful research papers to sustaining continuous academic exchanges. I am delighted that this scientific collaboration has now been formalized, and I believe this official partnership will open doors to exciting opportunities in the future.”
Daniel Sieber, MCI Professor and Associate Dean of Medical & Health Technologies is pleased to confirm: “The United States has been and will remain a strategic ally, partner, and joint driving force for Europe. Through Yale University, this strategic partnership gains a brilliant mosaic stone and an exciting pillar for our academic future. I look forward to the upcoming collaboration and the promising opportunities it brings.”
Andreas Altmann, MCI Rector, concludes: “I still remember well how the idea of an internationally connected MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® was dismissed by some as a dreamy fantasy. The achieved results prove us right and should convince the last despondent doubters of the enormous potential of the MCI. The region of the Tyrol, Austria, and Europe can only secure the prosperity of its economy and cohesion of its society with excellently qualified people, innovative concepts, and high-quality technologies, processes, products, and business models.”
Eva-Maria Holzleitner, Federal Minister for Women, Science and Research, congratulates: “This cooperation underlines the excellence of our science and research landscape as well as the trust that international partners place in Austria's institutions. Strong networks and cooperation with internationally renowned universities such as Yale strengthen our science location and help to tackle global challenges. Free research is the key to progress, and it is precisely such relationships that pave the way for a successful future. It is therefore our objective not only to welcome international university partnerships, but also to actively shape framework conditions in order to further promote such initiatives.”
