Once again top results for MCI in the CHE University Ranking 2025

Date 2025-05-20

Entrepreneurial School® achieves impressive scores in the highest range with 57 indicators

MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® in Innsbruck once again impresses with excellent results in the current CHE University Ranking 2025. In the student survey, all degree programs evaluated at MCI achieve top scores - particularly noteworthy are the bachelor programs Biotechnology & Food Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical, Health & Sports Engineering, Smart Building Technologies and Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering, which excel with overall scores of up to 4.7 stars.

Overall, the MCI achieved 57 out of 68 possible individual ratings in the highest range (from 3.8 out of 5 stars) and is thus well above the average of the participating universities in German-speaking countries. MCI's degree programs received particularly high ratings in the areas of support from teaching staff, study organization, practical relevance, career orientation and introduction to academic work, among others.

In fact-based categories, the MCI is also convincing: in the areas of contact with professional practice, international orientation, degrees within a reasonable period of time and support at the beginning of studies, the MCI is among the top group. In addition, the MCI's results in third-party funding acquisition and cooperative doctorates put it in a strong position in the research-oriented evaluation.

The infrastructural situation of the MCI - particularly with regard to learning and working areas as well as the limited room capacities - is, on the other hand, increasingly being assessed critically.

The high quality in terms of content and organization is also reflected in the general satisfaction of the students: high response rates underline the relevance and significance of the results. The Entrepreneurial School® thus remains one of the leading universities in the German-speaking world with a high academic profile and an international beacon effect for the education, science and business location.

Statements:

Brigitte Auer, Head of MCI Quality Management: “The results of the CHE Ranking 2025 confirm our continuous efforts to offer our students an excellent education and prepare them optimally for their professional future. We are proud that our degree programs excel in both teaching and research.”

Andreas Altmann, MCI Rector: “The outstanding result in the current CHE ranking strengthens MCI's position as a beacon in the Austrian and international higher education landscape. However, success must never rest on past achievements: a modern infrastructure and the urgently needed right to award doctorates are essential in order to further expand our innovative strength and provide even greater support to local companies with groundbreaking solutions for technologies, products and business models.”

Oswald Wolkenstein, Chairman of the MCI Supervisory Board: “The MCI's latest top results impressively underline the institution's outstanding quality, expertise and performance. At the same time, they show the enormous potential for the future; this must be used to strengthen the location”

Anton Mattle, Governor of Tyrol: “Congratulations to the MCI team on this impressive result. The knowledge and skills of the people who live, work and operate here are our most valuable resource. I am delighted that the state of Tyrol is perceived as a strong education and research state. The ranking shows that the Entrepreneurial School® is characterized by the achievements of its students and lecturers as well as the attractive range of courses on offer in the state capital of Innsbruck.”
