Platform Tyrol”

In the current landscape of Social Work, the shortage of specialists, (de)professionalization tendencies and the increasing complexity of social problems are omnipresent challenges that social workers are confronted with in their various fields of work - be it in direct practice, teaching and research, professional organizations or in interdisciplinary networks. To address these and other issues, the Department of Social Work launched the “Social Work Platform Tyrol” in April 2024. This is an interdisciplinary, cross-practice network that connects players in the Tyrolean social landscape.

What is the “Social Work Platform Tyrol”?

The central event of the “Social Work Platform Tyrol” is an annual network meeting at which organizations from various areas of Social Work practice in Tyrol come together to take a joint look at current and future challenges in Social Work and to jointly develop strategies to overcome them.

The topics initiated at the network meeting are worked on and further developed in regular meetings of a core group - consisting of representatives of the Department of Social Work and representatives of Social Work organizations.

What is the purpose of the “Social Work Platform Tyrol”?

The aim is to promote sustainable networking and exchange between the Department of Social Work and Social Work practice in order to exploit joint potential.

The group promotes the connection between science and practice and forms a place where innovative ideas, practice-relevant research approaches and joint projects can be developed. The role of the group is to act as a catalyst for the ongoing development of Social Work, to increase visibility and to promote a common, well-founded attitude of Social Work in society.

How can I participate in the “Social Work Platform Tyrol”?

Interested Social Work organizations are cordially invited to attend and participate. For further information on the “Social Work Platform Tyrol” and for the network meeting, please contact our department.
