Entrepreneurship & Digital Innovation

Integrating start-up methods successfully into companies

New digital technologies can disrupt conventional products, industries and business models, putting even large companies under pressure. Established companies are primarily convincing in developing incremental innovations and optimizing existing and profitable business models. In contrast, dealing with disruptive opportunities, often based on digital technologies, is particularly difficult. In order to defend their own competitive position in volatile and uncertain markets in the future, established companies must expand their technology competence and develop the ability to translate the potential of disruptive technologies into innovative business models.

The development of these competencies and skills are the focus of the new MCI certificate course Entrepreneurship & Digital Innovation. The course transfers principles, methods and tools from the start-up sector to a larger corporate context and shows how these tools can be used for disruptive innovations. Particular importance is attached to so-called corporate entrepreneurs, who, supported by supportive ecosystems, work on the products, services and business models of tomorrow.

Upon completion of the program, you will have

  • understand how to comprehensively apply the concept of corporate entrepreneurship;
  • identify relevant digital technologies and business models and adequately assess their potential benefits and threats based on your company's strategic objectives;
  • design an appropriate innovation-friendly ecosystem to successfully integrate modern start-up methods into a larger corporate context;
  • define the role and requirement profile of a corporate entrepreneur that fits the company.

The part-time Certificate in in Entrepreneurship & Digital Innovation program is a unique opportunity for

  • Innovation managers, intrapreneurs, product owners, change managers and other interested parties who want to successfully apply modern start-up methods in their company;
  • Entrepreneurs who want to switch to the corporate entrepreneur role in their company;
  • Managers in companies who see disruptive technologies as an opportunity for their own growth;
