HealthiQ - A platform that combines digital doctor search with depth of care and system impact

Students from the degree program Social, Health & Public Management at MCI are actively involved in various fields and work closely with practice partners. Our students are strongly connected to real-world needs while maintaining academic excellence. We are particularly proud when these two components merge into entrepreneurial initiatives. The following article introduces the idea developed by Benedikt Hochmuth and Stephan Körner – and we are excited about what is to come.

Anyone trying to book a doctor’s appointment today is often confronted with a frustrating mix of analogue processes, lack of transparency, and long waiting times. At the same time, medical practices face growing pressure: high no-show rates, unpredictable scheduling, and limited resources. HealthiQ aims to bridge this gap – with a platform that connects patients, healthcare professionals, and the healthcare system in a sustainable way, relieving strain and driving progress. Not just another tool, but a new form of infrastructure.

HealthiQ provides an intelligent doctor search with advanced filters such as specialty, language, insurance status, accessibility, or gender. Appointments are displayed in real time, can be booked instantly, and are automatically reallocated via a dynamic waitlist if cancellations occur. Users can securely upload medical documents, receive appointment reminders, communicate with practices, and provide feedback after visits. All features are multilingual, barrier-free, fully GDPR-compliant, and seamlessly integrable into existing practice systems.

The Founders: Young, driven, and practice-oriented.

Behind HealthiQ are Benedikt Hochmuth and Stephan Körner, two students of the Bachelor’s program Social, Health & Public Management at MCI in Innsbruck. What sets them apart is not only their motivation – but their complementary expertise: Benedikt brings years of experience in emergency medical services, military leadership training, and HR management in a biotech company. Stephan combines strong business acumen, creative excellence as a certified media designer, and hands-on experience in patient care from his civilian service. Together, they unite medical system expertise, entrepreneurial thinking, and socio-political awareness – a profile that not only led to the creation of HealthiQ but also drives its strategic vision forward.

From Innsbruck. For Austria. And soon beyond.

HealthiQ is currently being developed in close collaboration with medical practices, IT experts, legal advisors, and patients. The MVP is in active development, with pilot projects and strategic partnerships already underway. The official launch is planned for 2026 – starting in Tyrol, expanding across Austria, and with a long-term vision for the DACH region and beyond.
