On February 19, 2026, the annual Green Events Tirol award ceremony took place at Die Bäckerei – Kulturbackstube in Innsbruck. Klimabündnis Tirol supports event organizers with free and comprehensive consulting in the areas of waste management, mobility, catering, energy, and social responsibility in order to promote sustainable events. If predefined criteria in these areas are met, an event is certified as a “Green Event Tirol.”
The symposium held as part of the fourth semester of the bachelor's program in Social, Health & Public Management took place in February 2025 under the title “(Different) Ways to Success – What Role Do Courage, Mindset and Creativity Play? Successfully Shaping Change in the Nonprofit, Social & Health Sector.” The central focus was on what constitutes a positive error culture and how it can foster courage, resilience, and innovative capacity. In addition, discussions addressed how (social) business approaches and innovative ideas can drive societal and economic transformation processes, and how entrepreneurs learn from setbacks to explore new paths.
The award was handed over by René Zumtobel, Chair of Klimabündnis Tirol and Member of the Tyrolean Provincial Government, Andrä Stigger, Managing Director of Klimabündnis Tirol, and Stephanie Rauscher, Green Events Tirol Coordinator. Representing the MCI department, the award was accepted by Renate Windbichler, Linda Schaar and Lisa Stocker.
For the catering, the Green Event Tirol partner “Il Corvo” was engaged. In cooperation with HoRuck, the event used second-hand tableware and prepared meals using rescued food. Leftover dishes are redistributed at the restaurant—an approach that conserves resources and effectively reduces food waste.
By organizing Green Events, the departments actively contribute to the implementation of the initiatives and strategies of the MCI Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact to promote responsibility, sustainability, and social engagement.
