SGPM Student wins the 2026 MCI Creativity Award with HealthiQ

Date 2026-07-21

Digital Innovation for Orientation, Participation, and Health Literacy

SGPM student Benedikt Hochmuth received the 2026 MCI Creativity Award for his project HealthiQ. Organized by MCI, the competition recognizes innovative, creative, and feasible business concepts developed by students and highlights the entrepreneurial potential emerging at MCI.

HealthiQ addresses an important interface between healthcare, self-help, and everyday digital life. The project demonstrates how digital innovation, health literacy, and societal impact can be meaningfully connected.

“With HealthiQ, we are developing the first secure, pseudonymous, and GDPR-compliant digital health space of its kind, one that goes far beyond traditional online exchange. Our goal is not only to connect people affected by health-related issues and their families, but also to bring together relevant information, events, reputable organizations, and other stakeholders in the healthcare sector within a structured digital ecosystem. We aim to close a real gap between healthcare, self-help, and everyday digital life, thereby making an innovative and highly socially relevant contribution to greater orientation, participation, safety, and health literacy in the DACH region,” says Benedikt Hochmuth.

The award is also particularly gratifying from the perspective of the Social, Health & Public Management degree program. HealthiQ addresses central themes of the program: the further development of healthcare, digital innovation, social participation, and the creation of effective solutions at the intersection of health, social affairs, and public management.

“The fact that a project like HealthiQ is so strongly supported, accompanied, and made visible at MCI and especially within the Social, Health & Public Management environment, means a great deal to us. It shows how important entrepreneurial thinking with societal impact can be at universities. Winning the MCI Creativity Award means a lot to us because it demonstrates that the problem we are working on with HealthiQ is real and that our solution is highly relevant,” emphasizes Benedikt Hochmuth.

We warmly congratulate Benedikt Hochmuth on this award and are delighted by the visibility of a project that compellingly combines a spirit of innovation, health literacy, and social responsibility.
