Outstanding Academic Achievement Deserves Recognition. For this reason, the Scholarship of Excellence under the Student Support Act (StudFG) is awarded every year as a visible sign of exceptional commitment and academic excellence. Once again this year, the Ministry of Science has provided funding to award Scholarships of Excellence to students and graduates of the Department Business & Management.
Excellent Studies – Outstanding People
In the selection process, all academic achievements from the 2024/2025 academic year are taken into account. To be considered for a Scholarship of Excellence, all 60 curriculum-relevant ECTS credits from both the winter and summer semesters must have been successfully completed. In addition, an ECTS-weighted grade point average of 2.0 or better is required and – in the case of graduation during the assessment period – the degree must have been completed with distinction or a good overall result. These strict criteria clearly demonstrate that a Scholarship of Excellence is inseparably linked to high personal initiative, reliability, and commitment.
This year, a total of 87 students and graduates from the Department Business & Management applied. We are especially pleased that 55 of them met these demanding criteria and will be awarded a Scholarship of Excellence.
More Than Just Good Grades: A Symbol of Lived Excellence
Today, we would like to warmly congratulate our scholarship recipients on this achievement. They carry their knowledge and dedication not only into their courses, but far beyond – into projects, companies, and their social environments. In doing so, they act as ambassadors for our degree programs and inspire others to pursue their own educational paths with equal dedication.
“Our scholarship recipients impressively demonstrate what is possible when talent meets commitment, curiosity, and perseverance. They actively contribute to academic exchange and, with their enthusiasm, help make learning and teaching in our programs a true pleasure,” emphasizes Head of Department & Studies Prof. Priv.-Doz. Michael Razen, PhD.
Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Thomas Stöckl, Deputy Head of Department & Studies, adds: “The Scholarship of Excellence does not stand only for outstanding grades, but for the ability to apply knowledge meaningfully. Our awarded students connect theory with practice – and it is precisely this transfer that makes them the driving forces of tomorrow’s economy.”
Studying with Impact
Whether in the part-time bachelor’s program Wirtschaft & Management for Professionals, the full-time bachelor’s program Business & Management, or the master’s program International Business & Management – our shared goal is to create learning environments where people can grow. This year’s scholarship recipients show just how inspiring the results can be.
