Tyrol's Social Work: MCI Promotes Cooperation

Date 2024-04-25

Strengthening Social Work in Tyrol: The Department of Social Work initiates a new era of interdisciplinary cooperation

In the current landscape of Social Work, shortages of skilled employees, trends of (de)professionalization, and the increasing complexity of social issues are ubiquitous challenges faced by social workers in their various fields – whether in practice, teaching and research, professional organizations, or interdisciplinary networks.

To gain a shared understanding of current and future challenges, the first kick-off event of a new networking platform for social workers recently was held under the title "Current Developments in Social Work and their significance for practice & training in Tyrol" at the Department of Social Work of MCI.

Over 30 partners from various fields of Social Work exchanged views and discussed cross-cutting challenges and topics. Under the motto "Together we are stronger!" the aim of the kick-off was to develop a common understanding of the potential contribution of a new networking platform to collaboration between social workers and MCI, and to strengthen the connection between operational Social Work and the MCI Department of Social Work.
