Focus on global inequalities and post-migrant perspectives: exciting keynotes, panels, and debates during three-day conference

Recently the 8th Annual Conference on Migration Research in Austria took place under the title “Global Inequalities, (Im)Mobilities, and Migration Societies: Post-Migrant Perspectives.” Over three exciting and educational days, the event featured two keynote speeches and a total of 25 panels on various topics. Around 460 participants from Austria and abroad gathered at the Agnes Heller House in Innsbruck to exchange and expand their knowledge.

The discussions addressed current questions such as: What are the challenges and key topics in migration research in the 21st century? What does critical migration research mean in the face of global polycrises, trends of social division, and post-factual politics? What creative and innovative methodological approaches have emerged from recent migration research?

Belachew Gebrewold, Head of the Department of Social Work at MCI, served as commentator and moderator throughout the conference.

The event was organized in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck, MCI, and other partner organizations.
