Practice-oriented Insights for Social Work Students

Students learn about important aspects of counseling and networking for women with a history of migration and refugee experience

As part of an excursion, students of the bachelor's degree program in Social Work gained exciting insights into the work of the Innsbruck-based organization “Women from all countries”. Founded in 2001, the organization makes an important contribution to the education and counselling of women with a history of migration and/or refugee experience. The organization is also committed to women-specific issues through networking and public relations work.

During the excursion, the students had the opportunity to find out about the wide range of services offered by the institution and to talk directly to the staff.

Such practical experiences are of great value to the prospective social workers, as they can sharpen their awareness of the needs of the target groups and deepen their understanding of socio-political contexts.
