RehaKineTrain: Visit from Burkina Faso

Date 2025-04-07

Exchange with the University of Ouahigouya to strengthen rehabilitation training in Burkina Faso

The Department of Social Work recently received a visit from Burkina Faso as part of the RehaKineTrain project. The aim of the meeting was to develop a curriculum for training in rehabilitation and physiotherapy in order to improve medical care in Burkina Faso in the long term.

Hybrid workshops with around 30 students and teachers from the University of Ouahigouya were a central element of the exchange. Central aspects of physiotherapy training were discussed and adapted to the specific needs of the Burkinabe healthcare system. In addition, practical visits were made to the fh gesundheit and Reha Innsbruck to gain valuable insights into the Austrian training system and modern rehabilitation methods.

The RehaKineTrain project is now nearing its successful conclusion. The knowledge gained will flow directly into the development of a practical curriculum that will provide medical students in Burkina Faso with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in the field of physiotherapy. This initiative not only strengthens academic training, but also promotes international cooperation in the healthcare sector.
