The second annual network meeting of the “Social Work Platform” recently took place at the MCI Department of Social Work - a space for exchange, joint perspective development and strengthening the connection between science and practice in Social Work.
Numerous representatives from Social Work organizations in Tyrol came together at MCI to discuss central topics of the profession: from practice-relevant research to challenges in everyday professional life and the future of Social Work.
After a brief welcome and an update on developments since the first meeting the previous year, the discussions went into greater depth. Central topics were discussed in small groups - such as the master's project on the graduate survey, current research questions from the field or open topics that the participants themselves brought up.
The “Social Work Platform” was launched by the MCI in April 2024. In the meantime, a core group has been formed - an association of representatives of social organizations and the Department of Social Work. The aim is to promote sustainable, practical and interdisciplinary cooperation. Through regular exchanges between the university and the professional field, innovative projects are to be created, research topics jointly developed and a well-founded, shared attitude within Social Work strengthened.
The next network meeting is planned for spring 2026. Until then, the core group will continue to work on the impulses from the exchange and incorporate them into the ongoing collaboration.
