Formula Student, one of the most prestigious international design competitions for students, stopped off in Spielberg again this year. Among those taking part was the Campus Tirol Motorsport Team, an interdisciplinary project team made up of students from several Tyrolean universities, including MCI.
With a great deal of passion, technical expertise, and team spirit, the team spent months developing their own racing car, which competed against teams from all over the world in several disciplines in Spielberg. The technical design and innovation were evaluated, as well as economic efficiency, presentation skills, and performance on the race track.
In the so-called static disciplines, such as the engineering design presentation, the cost report, and the business plan pitch, the team scored points with its expertise, structured project management, and convincing presentation. In the dynamic competitions – including acceleration, skid pad, autocross, and the challenging endurance race – the self-developed race car also demonstrated solid performance and high reliability.
Participation in Formula Student offers students a unique platform to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting – whether in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, business administration, or design. In addition, the project promotes key competencies such as interdisciplinary collaboration, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and technical problem solving under real-world conditions.
MCI congratulates the entire Campus Tirol Motorsport team on its strong performance, tireless dedication, and successful appearance at Formula Student Austria 2025!
