Every year, the Mechatronics Platform Austria awards prizes for the Best Mechatronic Bachelor's and Master's Theses in Austria at its annual main conference.

MCI graduates have won these awards several times in the past, and this year, we are delighted that two students have been honored for their theses.

Tobias Wurzer from Ratschings in South Tyrol won second place in the category "Best Mechatronic Bachelor's Thesis in Austria" with his thesis "Digital Twin of a Battery-Electric Powered Snow Groomer".

In the category "Best Mechatronic Master's Theses of Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences", Martin Maier was awarded for his thesis "DQ-Sensor-Less Control Implementation on a Multi-Phase High-Speed Direct Drive Motor" and received prize money in the amount of EUR 1,000.-.

The Mechatronics Platform Austria is an association of the most successful mechatronics-oriented UAS study programs in Austria and promotes the use of synergies and common objectives in areas such as education and research. The study programs of the platform have been leading the essential rankings in terms of academic education and research for years. The platform sees itself as a community of interest for Austrian mechatronics engineers and as a guarantor for the training of the urgently needed young academics in these fields throughout Austria.

We congratulate the two award winners once again and look forward to many more successful theses in the future!
