As part of our annual study tour, we were once again delighted to welcome ten bachelor’s students from our Partner University Centria to our MCI Technology & Life Scienes campus and spend an exciting week with them.
The program was as exciting as it was diverse: a relaxed introduction to Austrian culture was rounded off with a short city tour through Innsbruck, and lectures on water resources and biomass perfectly prepared the students for the field trip to the biomass gasification plant and the wastewater treatment plant.
The company visit to ADLER-Werk Lackfabrik in Schwaz, followed by a tour through the Schwaz silver mine, was particularly exciting. Of course, a morning in the lab focusing on membrane production and analysis was also a must.
The Study Tour was concluded with a group hike to the Umbrüggler Alm and the traditional farewell dinner.
The Study Tour is designed to promote the Double-Degree Program we offer in our Bachelor’s Program in Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering in collaboration with Centria’s Bachelor’s Program in Chemical Engineering. To actively support the exchange between students from both universities and encourage them to network, a get-together in form of a Pub Quiz was organized—as in previous years, this year’s event was well-attended and a lot of fun!
We’re already looking forward to January 2027, when the Study Tour enters its next round with our Bachelor’s students heading back to Kokkola, Finland!
