UVET Challenge 2025/26

Date 2026-06-19

Three winners of this year's UVET Challenge were awarded

Through challenges you grow—and that’s exactly what the UVET Challenge is all about. It offers students of the Department of Environmental, Process, & Energy Engineering an extra challenge and an opportunity to improve themselves and compete against their peers in a competitive mathematical-scientific contest.

The UVET Challenge consists of eight tricky mathematical/creative problems, which are released one by one on the first Monday of each month throughout the academic year. The problems were developed by Werner Stadlmayr, Alexander Dumfort and Valentina Forer for our students, who then have one month to submit a solution.

On June 16, the winners of this year’s UVET Challenge were honored at the UVET end-of-semester celebration. Thanks to the sponsors – SPIEGLTEC GmbH, LAMBDA Wärmepumpen GmbH, and Syncraft GmbH – a prize pool of 1,000 euros was awarded to the top three performers.

Pia Seidel took third place, just behind second-place finisher Thomas Brugger. Simon Neumayr earned the most points, securing first place. All three tackled all eight tasks in the challenge and attempted to solve them with impressive care and precision—and did so with great success!

The entire Environmental, Process, & Energy Engineering Team extends its heartfelt congratulations on this outstanding achievement to all three.
