Eu-HEM Summer School 2026

Manage yourself and your research: Workshops, dialogue and a thesis hike

One week, four partner universities, hands-on workshops, and stimulating discussions. The Eu-HEM Summer School 2026 brought students of the European Master in Health Economics & Management together in Innsbruck.

The program, which was organized as Blended Intensive Program, began with an online preparation phase between April and June. In this time period students worked on joint assignments and explored the structure of academic writing. This hybrid approach ensured everyone entered the in-person week with a solid foundation, enabling productive collaboration on site.

In Innsbruck, the agenda featured practice-oriented workshops, interactive exchange formats, and lively discussions. Students built connections across specializations, developed research questions for their master’s theses, and received valuable feedback. What stands out at the Eu-HEM Summer School and other Eu-HEM events is the close cooperation among teaching staff: faculty from all four partner universities co-designed and co-led the workshops, strengthening academic dialogue and fostering collaboration.

A special highlight was the Thesis Hike on Innsbruck’s Nordkette. Surrounded by impressive alpine panorama, small groups discussed research questions, methodologies, and the practical relevance of their thesis topics. Stepping outside the seminar room offered a fresh perspective and the ideal setting for new ideas, focused conversations, and interdisciplinary links.
