Start of Studies for 36 Master's Students

Date 2024-10-03

Welcome to the cohort 2024 of Social Work, Social Policy & Management

Belachew Gebrewold, head of Department & Studies, welcomed the first-year students of the master's program of Social Work, Social Policy & Management at MCI. As part of the first course, the students got to know the MCI as well as staff members from administration and teaching, representatives of the Austrian Student Union (ÖH), and Student & Career Services.

The entire team at the Department of Social Work wishes the students a good start to their studies.

With regard to the requirements of the professional field, the study program combines the three central focuses of Social Work, Social Policy, and Social Management. At the beginning of the program, students also decide in which of these three focal areas, amounting to 15 ECTS, they would like to acquire in-depth knowledge from the second and fourth semester.

A career-friendly time model and a combination of classroom teaching, MCI webinars and guided self-study provide students with excellent opportunities to pursue a career during their studies or to acquire diverse professional experience in social institutions and to combine their studies with a center of life outside Innsbruck.
