Gaining professional experience, deepening knowledge and studying at the same time - is an ongoing trend. Since 2011, the MCI has been offering the opportunity to study food technology while working and well over 150 students have successfully completed this program.
In the Master's of Food Technology & Nutrition, students acquire and deepen new knowledge, gain valuable professional experience and make friends for life.
To further strengthen the synthesis of studying and working, the student’s and lecturer’s experiences have been collected and evaluated in recent years. This has shown that the desire for a balanced mix of classroom and online teaching has increased significantly. The new time model takes this need into account - as well as the desire for intensive networking with internal and external lecturers and students, joint coffee breaks and practical laboratory experience. Lecturers also greatly appreciate the exchange with students who are integrated into their professional lives. The exchange and discussion about the application of knowledge and the associated experiences are extremely exciting for everyone. These discussions often result in thesis topics or research projects, which are then worked on together. In particularly stressful times, working students always have the option of being exempt from a lecture.
We look forward to receiving feedback from current and future students and to work with them for further development of the courses.
