Four Days of Insights, Community, and Innsbruck Experiences for Our Exchange Students

Kicking off the 2026 spring semester with energy and enthusiasm: Over the past few days, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® welcomed its international exchange students to Orientation Days. The program offered a compact mix of key information, community-building, and Innsbruck experiences—an ideal start to get to know studies, city, and campus.

Facts & figures for the 2026 spring semester

  • New record high of incomings: 167 exchange students from 91 universities, 44 nations, 5 continents
  • Mobility formats: two thirds Erasmus, one third non‑Erasmus
  • Study levels: two thirds Bachelor, one third Master
  • Takeaway: MCI remains a highly sought-after destination—diversity and internationality shape campus life more than ever.

Program highlights

Orientation Days provided a rich, varied start that introduced essential services, explained academic standards, and showcased both the city of Innsbruck and the campus.

In addition to welcome words and the first informative sessions, the guided city tour stood out as a highlight on day one: framed by mountain vistas and the Inn river, the incomings gathered their first impressions of Innsbruck’s urban life.

Day two focused on campus services and student engagement. The MCI Library Services demonstrated how to make the most of research, resources, and consultations. Students then received insights into the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN)—key hubs for community, events, and support. Afterwards, the campus was explored independently: in small groups, the incomings embarked on an Actionbound rally, solved tasks, and got to know routes, locations, and contact points in a playful way.

Day three was all about cuisine: the Welcome Dinner featured traditional Tyrolean dishes. Our Instagram video showcases the specialties served—worth a look to get a sense of both the flavors and the convivial atmosphere at the table.

On day four, the group visited the Alpenzoo Innsbruck. Among Alpine ibex, bearded vultures, and other mountain species, they gained a vivid impression of what Innsbruck offers beyond the campus. We captured the best moments of this outing in our Instagram video as well.

Tip: The videos deliver authentic glimpses of community spirit, campus adventures, and culinary highlights—perfect for experiencing the atmosphere of Orientation Days.

A big thank-you

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Student & Career Center, the MCI Library, ÖH, and ESN, as well as all buddies and volunteers who warmly welcomed and supported our incomings.

We wish everyone a successful start, inspiring encounters, and an enriching time at MCI—welcome to the 2026 spring semester!
