86 First-Semester Students Start Their Part-Time Studies

This year, we are pleased to welcome 30 undergraduate students and 56 graduate students to our part-time degree programs. Nearly half of the graduate students have opted for the job-friendly time model during the week schedule.

Prof. Dr. Martin Pillei, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hillmer, Sabine Mader, and Lukas Mair led the welcome sessions and provided an overview of the Industrial Engineering & Management programs.

Afterwards the bachelor's students visited the introductory lecture “Potential & Personality”. This course has a team-building focus and helps students reflect on their own potential while highlighting development opportunities in the field of industrial engineering.

Master’s students begin their studies with the course “Advanced Production & Processing.” Here, students learn to select appropriate production processes, calculate their costs, and identify ways to improve these processes with a focus on sustainability.

The other group of master's students start the program with the course “Applied Research.” In this course, students explore topics such as the principles of responsible management education and the importance of subject-specific and cross-disciplinary competencies.

The entire team in the Department of Industrial Engineering & Management wishes all first-semester students a great start to their studies and a successful first year!
