New! Master's Program in Digital Business & Software Engineering Starting in September 2025, our new online master’s program in Digital Business & Software Engineering will launch – designed in a flexible blended learning format with just five on-campus sessions. Over the course of four semesters, students will be thoroughly prepared to develop complex software systems and integrate them into modern business processes. With elective modules allowing individual focus areas, hands-on projects, and international networking opportunities, this program offers an ideal foundation for careers as Senior Developers, Systems Architects, Project Managers, Consultants, or Entrepreneurs. MCI eSports Team – Goas Gaming What happens when students from Management, Communication & IT (MCiT) and Digital Business & Software Engineering (DiBSE) travel to Hawaii to compete with the world’s top university eSports teams? A true adventure filled with matches, academic challenges, community engagement, and sea turtles. In our interview, Tobias Brzezowsky, an MCiT Master’s student, shares his unforgettable experiences at the first Academic eSports World Tournament in Hawaii.
MCiT Business Breakfast Networking over croissants and hot chocolate: In a relaxed, personal setting at the end of November, INNIO Group and SWARCO presented their companies and offered exciting insights into career paths and opportunities. The breakfast that followed gave our students the perfect chance to ask questions, make connections, and explore future job possibilities.

MCiT and DiBSE Scholarships of Excellence We’re proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our MCiT and DiBSE students and alumni. A total of 38 students received merit-based scholarships – a recognition of their exceptional academic performance and remarkable dedication. Our Head of Studies Peter Mirski presented the certificates in a festive setting, and the relaxed atmosphere made for a great opportunity to connect and celebrate together.
Award for Claudio Jäger For his outstanding academic performance and innovative master's thesis "Development of a Concept for a Drone Network for Emergency Operations", MCiT alumnus Claudio Jäger was honored with the prestigious State Award by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.

State Funding for Arno Rottensteiner Seven MCI research projects were awarded the 2024 Tyrolean Young Researchers' Grant – including the project of our staff member and PhD student Arno Rottensteiner. He’s exploring how large language models can enhance knowledge management in Tyrolean SMEs. A strong sign of the innovative strength of our emerging research talents. Crossing Europe Twice – Stefan Santifaller With his incredible journey “Crossing Europe Twice”, our MCiT Bachelor alumnus Stefan Santifaller pushed every limit – physically, mentally, and geographically. His adventure included running 182 marathons from Portugal to the North Cape. Once there, he cycled unsupported all the way back to his starting point.
